Utilizing non-participatory observation data this study focuses on the social dynamics of men’s anonymous sexual encounters with other men in a cinema showing sexually explicit movies. Focus is on how patrons interact both verbally and non-verbally when negotiating sexual activities. In addition to elucidating how same-sex sexual encounters are structured and consummated focus is also provided on how specific communication practices and patterns are correlated with specific sexual activities.
